How long will it take me to get my visa?
Visas generally take 1-2 weeks to process. If you’re traveling in less than 2 weeks, it’s always recommended that you apply for your visa earlier rather than later to make sure there are no delays. Regardless of how quickly you can get an appointment, we recommend making an appointment at least two business days prior to your departure date so that there’s enough time to pick up your passport with your visa and make any other last-minute preparations before heading out on your trip. Where do I apply for my Turkish visa?
This is an important question to ask before you even think about making your Turkish visa application. While some countries’ citizens can apply at their local Turkish consulate, others need to do so from outside of Turkey. If you live in Canada, you’ll have to go through a different channel. What if I can’t get an appointment on the day I want?
Whether you’re a US citizen living in Canada, or a permanent resident of Canada who wants to travel on vacation, there are many reasons why you might be interested in applying for your Turkish visa in advance. If you want to visit Turkey before your Turkish visa appointment date (which is no later than 10 days after your arrival date), then it’s recommended that you call and make an appointment far in advance—not only will it save time at passport control, but it also guarantees that you won’t get stuck waiting at home on your scheduled day because they don’t have enough appointments available. What happens next once I have applied for my visa?
Once you have applied for your visa, you will receive an email notifying you that we have received your documents. Please note that it can take 2 weeks to get your e-visa after submitting all of your paperwork. You should receive a PDF of your visa at least 3 days before travel. Also, please make sure that when applying online, you print out two copies of each page of your passport (front and back). If there is anything wrong with any of these documents once they are scanned into our system, then it is impossible to make corrections. Once in Turkey, when going through security to enter an airport, be sure to show these printed copies of both sides of your passport’s pages in addition to your actual passport.
How do I know when my application has been approved?
After your application has been approved, you’ll receive an email from us confirming that you can collect your passport and Turkish visa. You can do so at any Turkish consulate in Canada, or at our London office if traveling from within Europe. Please note that it may take up to 2 business days between receiving approval and being able to collect your passport. Make sure you check with the consulate directly to find out exactly when they will be open. If collecting from our London office, we recommend allowing an extra day just in case there are delays with either side of the transfer process.
