If you are a citizen of New Zealand and you want to visit Canada, you now have the opportunity to do so without needing a visa. This new agreement between the two countries will allow citizens of each country to visit each other’s territories without having to obtain a visa beforehand. To take advantage of this new program, all you need is your passport and your Canadian driver’s licence. You will also need to have proof of your identity (such as a birth certificate) and your citizenship from New Zealand. If you are visiting family or friends in Canada, you do not need to bring anything else with you.
This new agreement between Canada and New Zealand is an effort by both countries to reduce the number of people who need to apply for visas before traveling to one another’s countries. If you are a Canadian citizen and live in Norway, you can now apply for a Canadian visa from New Zealand citizens. This change was made as part of the Canada-NZ Free Trade Agreement which came into effect on January 1, 2016.
To qualify for a Canadian visa, you must meet all the requirements set by the Canadian authorities. These include being a legal resident of Norway for at least six months and having a valid travel document that proves your identity and citizenship.
